THIS IS THE RENEWAL ACLS CLASS

NEW 2020 Version 

Prerequisites:  Must be proficient in BLS skills AND complete the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse Work through eLearning.heart.orgAllow 3-4 hours to complete the pretest and required online videos (must score 70% or better, but may be retaken if necessary). Successful completion of the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse Work will result in the certificate needed for admission to the in-person component of the course. There will be 3.0 hours of CE/CEU/CME awarded to those who are in healthcare professions that qualify.

Class duration: Up to 4 hours of in-person attendance in a full class, less time will be needed for smaller groups.

Written Exam(s): The ACLS written test is 50 questions. If renewing BLS, an additional 25-question test will be administered. There are 2 attempts allowed to score 84% or better to pass the final assessment(s). It is open-book and not time-limited. 

Completion card:  The ACLS Provider eCard is issued when the student completes the examination, and will be issued the same day.  The ACLS eCard is valid for two years.

THIS ACLS PROVIDER MANUAL IS REQUIRED BY AHA. 

 Note:  You may pick the book up at our training facility at your class check-in time, or you may pick it up in advance. Check the website for OFFICE HOURS before coming to the facility, as we have varied hours of operation.  Orders made at least 10 business days or more in advance have book shipping available at an additional cost of $9.

It is imperative to read your course confirmation email after registering, as all necessary instructions in completing the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse Work will be provided there.

You must complete the precourse work and submit the certificate of completion. Failure to do so will deny your admission to the class.

Note - there is no precourse work required for Thr BLS part.

 

Included:  You will be renewing your BLS Provider eCard for when taking this course. BLS recertification during ACLS requires that we perform additional CPR skills checks,during class, as well. This will save nearly 3 hours of class time compared with the stand-alone BLS course.

 

Additional Course Items

  • OPTIONAL:   An individual pocket mask can be used during the course.
  • OPTIONAL:  Key chain face mask when providing CPR.
  • OPTIONAL:   The ECC 2020 pocketbook reference includes BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP references, including the algorithms, drug dosages, and related procedural descriptions along with convenient tabs to quickly reference material in critical situations.  It is spiral-bound, durable, and contains 101 full pages of reference material.  It is a must-have for healthcare professionals working in emergency, intensive care, or critical care departments, and it is easily carried as a pocket-reference.  NOTE:  Will be available at check-in time for class (cannot be shipped, but is available for pickup prior to class), and it may be used as a reference during skills evaluation.  Highly recommended by experienced healthcare professionals.
